The Penguin Tree

Penguins are my thing. I don't know why. They just are. I've been collecting all sorts of penguin stuff since I was in the 6th grade.

Some folks don't believe me when I speak of my Christmas tree completely covered with penguin ornaments.
But here it is.
Click on any photo to make it bigger.
And the one that started it all....
So now that you know about the penguin tree
along with the annual penguin pajama picture with the nieces and nephews,
our annual Christmas Cookie Party in our matching penguin aprons,
the Halloween costume I bought for Mia 6 months before I knew who she was,
the penguins sprinkled throughout Mia'sNursery,
the penguin tattoo on my ankle,
and the gazillion other penguin artifacts I have in my life
maybe you'll better understand the significance and sheer goosebump worthy kismet of being matched with the only baby I've ever seen with penguins in the background of her referral photo.

It was meant to be....

The penguins in her referral pic still give me goose bumps!!! Mia is your sweet baby girl for sure and I have a feeling she will very quickly be a penguin lovin' kinda gal too!

Hannah has just about grown out of her penguin jammies but I think of you whenever I put them on her!

Well good morning - you may not know that Marie and I have adopted internationally 3X now. I came to know you and your blog through a co-worker of yours and friend of mine when he caught me updating our picture site for the foster parents of a couple of our kids - I was translating the english to Korean and formal Chinese for the posts.

Anyway - it's been our experience that all of us who have come to know IA have these 'things' - be it the penguins in your referral picture - or any of a bazillion other congruences...yeah - they are in fact - signs to us that these are our kids and that however 'imperfect' the circumstances that caused our kids to need to be adopted - that our adoptions are perfect solutions in this imperfect world!

hugs - aus and co.
